Kern River fatality sign updated to 348, 6 new deaths this past year

The fatality sign at the mouth of the Kern River Canyon was updated Friday morning, from β€œ342 lives lost” to β€œ348 lives lost”, marking 6 additional lives lost over the past twelve months. The annual update reflects the total number of lives lost in the Kern River since recordkeeping began in 1968.
